11 Apr Five Easy Steps to a Beautiful Skin
Ever since I came to England, about 18 years ago, my skin type changed from being very oily to sensitive/dry skin. I think this might have been due to change in weather conditions amongst other reasons. The funny thing is that I still get oily at times, during the hot summer season. The unfortunate thing is that sensitive skin is usually not a disease doctors can diagnose. My skin reacts badly if I try to use all sorts of products. This is why I try to stick to not more than five products from cleansing to moisturise.
In the past, I tried so many products, that left me worse off than before. It was until a friend introduced me to Clinique skincare and I only follow five easy steps.
Whenever cleansing my skin, I always start with the Clinique makeup remover.
The Clinique makeup remover is kind to my skin and it’s very easy to use. I shake it well, and put a few drops on a cotton ball. I then gentle press it for just 10 seconds over areas I’m work on, and wipe; all the makeup is gone. The stubborn waterproof mascara dissolves and lifts away easily without even irritating or stinging my eyes.
After using the makeup remover, I use the Clinique extra gentle cleansing foam. This is a 100% fragrance-free cleanser.
Women of my colour usually struggle to find a skincare routine that perfectly suits. Fortunately, the Clinique cleansing foam is very kind to my sensitive and dry skin. I find other forms of cleanser too harsh to my sensitive skin causing irritation. The foam is very gentle and removes all impurities easily. The foam also leaves the skin feeling refreshed. Most of all it is very easy to use. Lather between palms with tepid water, massaging over the face and rinse thoroughly. Pat the skin dry and take the following step.
The Clinique clarifying lotion is a liquid exfoliating lotion.
It’s ever so easy to use. I normally apply it using a cotton ball. I sweep it gently over the face and neck, making sure I avoid the eye area and lips. The clarifying lotion is a refreshing formula that smoothes and brightens the skin. Not only does it prepare the skin for moisturising but also helps fine dry lines disappear. Using twice a day results in healthy clearer skin.
The Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator is my 10-Star product of them all.
I know people always say bloggers are good at exaggerating but this is no exaggeration at all. I’m a hard-to-please person ask my husband he will tell you. It’s got to be perfect and really good to get a tick from me, and the moisture surge is simply that good. This is a gel-cream that empowers the skin to hydrate itself. You can tell the results on immediate use as it delivers 152% instant moisture boost, maintaining a non-stop hydration for up to 72 hours, even after washing the face.
What I love about the moisture surge is that while it helps my skin creates its own internal water source for plumpness. It also has aloe ingredients, which helps with an extra healthy-looking glow. Above all, it is non-acnegenic and is oil-free. I know I have dry skin but I wouldn’t want an oily skin either. I have been there before and I hate oily skin.
I use the Clinique dramatically different moisturizing cream.
This is a very rich moisture-cream. What I like about it is that a tiny amount of cream goes a long way. For dry skin like mine, I find the moisturizing cream both strengthening and soothing for the skin. It makes the skin more resilient to any weather conditions. As a bonus, it keeps the skin looking younger especially when at that stage where one starts not wanting to share their actual age…
These are my ‘Top Five Steps’ to an ever glowing-younger-looking skin. However if I am just chilled at home all day, with no makeup and no burning-red lipstick, I just start from Step Two to Step Four. Sometime less is more and I love life that way. I hope you do too.
