Esther Tendai Burt

My name is Esther. I was born and raised in Zimbabwe. I came to the UK, London to be specific in the year 2000. In 2005, I graduated as a psychiatric nurse at South Bank University. I moved down to Southampton in 2006. I did Journalism in 2011 and founded my own publication called DIY Girl magazine. Fast forward, I am now a full-time travel blogger.

How long have you been blogging?

I started blogging since 2011 when I founded by baby project DIY Girl magazine. I stopped for a while and just started again in 2016.

What camera do you use?

I use a digital camera, Nikon D3300. I sometimes use my iPhone if I am desperate for a quick one and my Nikon is AWOL.

Who takes your photos?

I take all photos that I am not in (unless credited). I am blessed to have a husband as my rock. Mark takes most of my poses as half the time we are always gallivanting together. If Mark is not there, then it’s my ever so generous sis (Debbie) or now and then her son Dan (great nephew he is).  Rarely, I would ask a passer-by.

How can I start a blog?

Whether you are novice or want refreshing, don’t worry I have put together a few helpful tips under ‘Blogging’. Every fortnight I post something about blogging be it tips or advise. Make sure you don’t miss a thing.

What is my day job?

I am currently a full time housewife, hence having all the time to blog. I would like to think that I am a self-pronounced Mediterranean connoisseur. I have introduced several recipes to my husband and he now loves Mediterranean dishes. I will share some recipes as I blog.

Do you get paid for blogging?

At the moment Love-Life is an uttermost hobby if not therapy. I love it to bits and it’s keeping sane. A very good therapeutic tool I must admit.

Do you have a blogging team?

Love-Life is a one-woman band although I would like to give credit to the following people who are always there when needed:

– Mark, for being my photographer and soul mate,

– My sis Debbie, for being there especially sharing her styling techniques. I tell you the girl does it big,

– And last but not least of course, Dan (nephew), for his social media input. The boy is smart. Love you all.
